Position Summary:
The Youth Development Program Director of Before and After School and Day Camp will provide support to the Youth Development Team in assisting with day-to-day operations, while also supervising a team of licensed Before and After School staff and Day Camp Staff. Supervision in these departments will include weekly observation check-ins and monthly payroll approvals. Although this position requires oversight of three before and after school and day camp sites, this position reports daily at the Fairfield Family YMCA location. Due to high demand with before and after school and day camp, the Program Director will work closely with the Associate Executive Director to expand with more sites. While at the branch, the Youth Development Director is the on-call to substitute for any absent Before and After School staff and day camp staff if needed. During school break, this position will support in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Camp administration/programming. Additionally, the Youth Development Director will work closely with the Associate Executive Director to manage, implement and grow the Youth and Government program a model legislature and court program for high school students.
This position works directly with the Associate Executive Director to plan, communicate, and execute program activities, budget development, monitoring and provide administrative support. Administrative duties include screening volunteer applications, assisting with registrations, review and process registration forms, help schedule appointments with parents/guardians for additional document review, billing, and programming assistance. The Youth Development Director is responsible for ensuring quality Enrichment, and supporting the YD Team in providing quality and safe programs, including knowledge and experience with Title 22 Licensing and ACA accreditation requirement. In addition, this position is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere for participants while helping to facilitate a sense of community and engagement among program participants. This position will communicate directly with staff, parents, members, future members, principals, teachers, school staff, before and after school and camp participants.
