YMCA - CHARLOTTE is Hiring a Finance Assistant: Harris YMCA Near Charlotte, NC

Under the direction of his/her supervisor, and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Finance Assistant’s responsibilities include providing primary leadership, management and direction to branch program registrations, program administrative support, assist with program set-ups (if required per branch), assist with camp updates and collections, assist with program drafts.

Principal Activities:

  • Assist with program registration processes (if required per branch).
  • Assist Program Master on set-ups bi-monthly.
  • Provide leadership and manage the on-going processes associated with program participant accounts to include: account receivables, delinquent accounts, pending accounts, cancellations, wait lists and changes to orders as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments of accounts receivables for programs with continual charges assigned by the Finance Manager.
  • Serve as a reports source to provide information and guidance from Personify data to staff members as it relates to their program area (class rosters, invoices, adjusting product details based upon need, etc.)
  • Collaborate with program directors to ensure timely and accurate program registration data.
  • Use excellent Listen First skills to best serve members.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to inquiries from members.
  • Assist with entering draft information for program drafts.
  • Process accounts payable invoices and maintain payables for Branch.
  • Provide assistance to Member Service staff as needed during registration
  • Assist with camp updates during camp season
  • Administrative duties as needed

Requirements:

Know How:

  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills with an ability to relate well to staff, volunteers, members and community leaders.
  • A two-year degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of two years experience in an administrative/finance capacity.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to become proficient in association specific software applications.
  • Ability to handle and process confidential information.
  • Possess strong fiscal aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Ability to design and implement systems for effective process and registration management within areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain all trainings and certifications required by Quality Standards.
