Retail Purchasing Associate

As we expand we are seeking a detailed oriented Retail Purchasing Associate.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Retail Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the purchasing department in procuring merchandise, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and selecting merchandise from various suppliers to meet the company's requirements and standards.
- Coordinate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Place purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and inventory targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Track and manage shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Update and maintain purchasing records, including price lists, contracts, and vendor information.
- Assist in analyzing sales data and market trends to forecast demand and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Provide administrative support to the purchasing department as needed, including managing documentation, correspondence, and filing.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
Schedule
- Proven experience in retail purchasing, procurement, or inventory management role.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Extensive experience in vendor management, including assessing supplier performance and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Sales experience or understanding of retail sales dynamics is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Schedule
Full Time Position: Monday to Friday with weekend availability as needed
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $36,000.00
