Position Summary:
Coordinator for all internship and speaking opportunities for GPATS (Graduate Program in Advanced Talmud/Tanach Studies) students. This is a part-time, casual position working less than 19 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Interaction with Communities
  • Develop a centralized email/website/phone number of inquiries
  • Develop a system to track requests and placement
  • Seek out communities who may be interested in having GPATS students involved in their shuls/schools
    • Arrange opportunities for GPATS students to give shiurim
    • Arrange opportunities for GPATS students to visit communities for Shabbatot and teach Torah
    • Create internships with Shuls and schools and helping to organize them
    • Find jobs and notifying students about them
  • Be the first contact for shuls
    • Find out from shuls how many students, what type of shiurim
  • Email the students of each opportunity (multiple times) to collect names of those interested
    • Work with director to match up students with each opportunity
    • Keep records of every opportunity- who goes and ensures they get paid (keeping Director notified of all opportunities and together create a spreadsheet with expenses for administrator)
  • Arrange and collect all materials needed for the shabbaton/shiurim
    • Bios, pictures, topics and titles, and source sheets
    • Make flyers (if the shul doesn't have someone to do it)
  • Arrange a meeting on zoom between Rabbi of shul and the students before each weekend (and be on the zoom or ensure that director of GPATS is available)
  • Interaction with Students
  • Meet one-on-one with GPATS students who are interested
    • To build portfolio application
    • To help match them with an internship during their time at GPATS
    • To help them find educational jobs after they graduate
  • Help to schedule a few lunch and learns a year to teach the skills needed building resumes, bios and interview skills.
Experience & Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3 years of experience
Salary Range:
$18 - $20 per hour
