Position Summary:
Yeshiva University seeks adjunct instructors to teach in its online, asynchronous Hebrew language program starting in Fall of 2022.
Position Responsibilities:
- Depending on need and availability, instructors may teach up to 2 sections of 20 students each, per academic term.
- Preference will be given to those who can commit to two terms (Fall and Spring) of instruction.
- Instructors may work from anywhere, and are expected to devote 7-10 hours/week to each section (105-150 hours/term).
- Responsibilities include: interaction with students by responding to posted course work, monitoring students' progress, and communicating with students through a variety of methods, including remote discussion groups and individual tutoring at the instructor's discretion.
- Instructors will be supervised by Yeshiva University's Hebrew department, with all teaching materials provided by the program. Pay per section is $4000.
Experience & Educational Background:
- Candidates must have a high level of fluency in modern Israeli Hebrew.
- An academic degree in a relevant field (master's or equivalent preferred).
- Record of proven success teaching in an online environment, preferably asynchronously on Canvas, and/or interest in online learning and willingness to undergo intensive training in asynchronous teaching.
