Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch is Hiring an Administrative Supervisor Near Billings, MT

Position Summary: At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, we count on our Administrative Supervisors to provide leadership in providing trauma-informed mental health services in their region of responsibility. They will serve as an active member of the Leadership Team, partnering with other leaders working to assure adherence to the mission and values of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. The Administrative Supervisor will actively work to attain the strategic goals established in the strategic plan. Additionally, they will serve as a primary point of contact with outside agencies and partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides leadership and supervision to assigned direct reports as outlined in the supervisor duties below.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Daily And Monthly Responsibilities
  • Monitor staff compliance with Administrative Rules of Montana, Council on Accreditation, and other governing bodies including mental health center and child placing agency licensing.
  • Directly supervise CBS program staff, and at minimum provide supervision monthly.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings appropriate to the role as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the policies and procedures for all YBGR Community based programs.
  • Contribute to community outreach and public relations of each community in assigned area.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and engage in regular communication, program planning and problem solving.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff including job specific training and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 21 years old or older
  • Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
  • Bachelor Degree in a human services or mental health related field of study. A combination of previous professional experience and formal education from an accredited university may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3 years of professional experience in the human services field.
  • Driver’s License to operate passenger vehicle.

  • Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.

Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements
  • Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in a climate-controlled environment but occasionally will work in an outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions.
  • Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties.
  • Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
  • Consistently needs to move about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and frequently change body position from and to standing, kneeling, and sitting.
  • The person in this position will constantly communicate co-workers, clients, their treatment team, and other parities. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.
  • Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe client’s behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
  • Will occasionally be required to drive company or personal vehicle to other YBGR locations to meet with employees and other stakeholders.
