Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at our retail establishment.
Duties:
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions with customers
- Scan goods and collect payments
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Keep reports of transactions
- Bag or wrap purchases
- Upsell products and services when appropriate
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a Cashier or in a similar role
- Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g., cash register, scanners)
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Customer satisfaction-oriented
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
- High level of professionalism
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Knowledge of stock procedures
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Understanding of retail math concepts
- Proficiency in basic math skills for handling transactions
- Experience with upselling techniques
- Proficiency in operating a cash register
- Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish or other languages for multilingual support
- Exposure to technical sales concepts
