Daniel Equine Services is looking for a motivated equine veterinary assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position initially but a full time position is possible later if desired - one of our technicians has been accepted to veterinary school and will be leaving at the end of the summer.

You will be working as an assistant for Dr. Daniel in an ambulatory setting. Previous experience with equine sports medicine is preferred, but good horse handling skills are mandatory.

Candidates should have a keen interest in the disciplines of show hunters, jumpers, and dressage. Above all, candidates must be able to communicate effectively, work in a team environment, and have a willingness to learn.

• Client communication : answer phone calls and texting via the work phone number, respond to periodic emails.
• Office work : basic computer skills are needed to; input client and patient data in medical record software, process payments, organize supplies.

Requirements

• Able to frequently lift objects 1lb to 50lb.
• At least two years of equine industry experience.
• Able to follow directions, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
• Good time management and attention to detail.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Client confidentiality and customer service skills, answering the phone, taking messages.
• Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
