THE ROLE: The Trade Compliance Analyst will manage the Sensus NA trade compliance program through the development and application of standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with corporate trade compliance policy and government regulations. The Trade Compliance Analyst will work as team player to ensure implementation of compliance throughout the business unit. The position will be located at our Morrisville, NC facility.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • This role is responsible for complying with all internal Trade Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Must work closely in a team environment to update and maintain internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all United States government Trade policies are adhered to.
  • Maintain Trade records for the appropriate length of time.
  • Review and maintain master data lists.
  • Maintain Harmonized Tariff database for products and parts.
  • Complete internal Trade Compliance training annually and as needed.
  • Review Free Trade Agreements.
  • Classify products as needed.
  • Work cross-functionality with multiple internal departments.
  • Work with Customs Brokers to ensure imports are processed quickly and accurately.
  • Measure Customs Brokers performance and provide feedback.
  • Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Create Export documentation for international shipments.
  • Assist in developing Trade Compliance training programs.
  • Screen and review parties against sanctioned and embargoed lists.
  • Participate in internal Trade Compliance audits.
  • Research Trade regulations and rulings.
  • Perform other duties associated with Trade Compliance as may be required while maintaining a customer focused approach. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent course work in the areas of Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or Compliance.
  • 2 years of related Compliance experience.
  • 2 years working with Customs Brokers and United States government agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience is Microsoft Office applications. Word, Excell, PowerPoint.
  • Multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Motivated Self-Starter that is pro-active.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the main working environment will be a typical office setting. The physical demands may include but are not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the office or facility. Occasional medium lifting of 20-25 could be necessary at times. Regular work schedule will be 40 hours per week. Overtime may be necessary based upon job/project demands. Travel is expected to be less than 10%.
