Position Overview: The Traffic Manager plays a vital role in managing the logistics and transportation operations of XS Merchandise, ensuring the efficient flow of goods both inbound from vendors and outbound to customers. They are responsible for scheduling appointments with vendors for receiving truckloads of products and coordinating outbound shipments, including Less Than Truckload (LTL) and truckload orders, to be picked up and delivered to customers. Additionally, they oversee project workflows, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work within the transportation department.

Schedule: FIRST SHIFT ONLY: Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. No evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities:

Inbound Vendor Shipment Coordination:

• Schedule appointments with vendors for the receipt of truckloads of products, ensuring efficient utilization of warehouse resources and timely processing of incoming shipments.
• Communicate with vendors to confirm shipment details, including quantities, delivery dates, and special instructions.
• Coordinate with receiving personnel to ensure readiness for inbound shipments and proper documentation of received goods.

Outbound Customer Shipment Coordination:

• Schedule appointments for outbound shipments, including LTL and truckload orders, to be picked up from the warehouse and delivered to customers.
• Work closely with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange transportation for outbound orders, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
• Provide shipping instructions and documentation to carriers and ensure accurate preparation of shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary paperwork.

Workflow Management:

• Develop and maintain a system for managing transportation workflows, including inbound and outbound shipments, to ensure timely processing and delivery of orders.
• Work closely with warehouse personnel and operations manager to allocate resources, to meet the demands of inbound and outbound shipments.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and updates, both internally and externally.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, customers, and purchasing department to coordinate shipment activities and resolve any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Forklift Certification: Valid forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating a forklift in a warehouse setting.
• Experience: Previous experience in arranging LTL & Truckload pickups with freight carriers.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team.
• Efficiency: Proven track record of working efficiently to meet productivity goals while maintaining accuracy.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks as required in a warehouse setting.
