Position: Accounting/Finance Manager

Location: Huntsville, AL Work from home flexibility - will be expected in the office 1-2 days/week

Overview: As an Accounting/Finance Manager at X-Bow Systems, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the company's overall success. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze financial data, and implement efficient processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis for management review.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Review accounting systems to determine their efficiency and overall value to the organization.
• Resolve accounting issues and provide responsible solutions.
• Complete special accounting projects as assigned.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Process Improvement:

• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
• Streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial operations.

Financial Analysis:

• Analyze financial data, trends, and variances.
• Provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes.

Qualifications:

• 7 years of progressive government contract accounting experience
• 5 years of experience working with DCAA, CPA, and other audit authorities
• BS/BA in accounting, MS preferred
• Assist SVP/CFO with financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Oversee a growing finance department.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversees and reviews accounting tasks, including payroll, taxes, and compliance.
• Collaborates with the SVP, Finance and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators.
• Meets deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Extensive excel knowledge and ability
• Knows and adheres to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and regulations.
• Remote work environment
• Travel up to 15%.
