POSITION OVERVIEW :

Please note : There are 2 available positions. Locations : Houston & San Antonio, TX

This position, under the direction of the Asset Protection Director, will embody the do the right thing mentality by protecting people, assets, and our brand.

The position will require the individual to work in an energized, fast paced environment focused on creating safe settings for our employees, teams, and customers;

this is critical to driving our brand power, enduring customer relationships, and exuding our commitment to team and values.

Enterprise thinking and working with cross-functional teams and external partners will be part of this role’s daily function.

APAS is responsible for direct support of the assigned APAM including shrink reduction, training, and support of the AP Agent staff.

The Asset Protection Area Supervisor must be professional, courteous, and able to effectively communicate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Duties and projects as directed by APAM, Director, AP & Vice President, AP.
  • Support field teams as needed to ensure that stores have adequate APA coverage.
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring APA within assigned area.
  • Engage theft suspects (if certified on RECOM) when in store; ensuring all current WSS policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist in continuing education and training of the CO’s & AP Agent (APA) PRIORTY.
  • Area Shrink Captain - Train, coach, and teach all store staff about Shrink & Shrink Reduction tactics.
  • Ensure store staff are aware of all Safety related policies & procedures.
  • Assist with the BOLO alerts for theft / robbery suspects that are likely to target other stores within the immediate area.

Provide photos for law enforcement if requested or needed to complete a report or arrest.

  • Report any policy violations or inappropriate activity observed to APAM.
  • Communicate with CO & APA to ensure all incidents involving ECS are reported and properly documented.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop localized plans and efforts to address high impact cases.

Proactively monitor controls to identify potential causes of habitual offender activity within specific locations.

Communicate and assist ORC team as needed.

Attend and participate in district / area weekly and monthly meetings.

Train with APAM & DM on a weekly basis in store specific skills in preparation for next level assignments.

Spend time weekly understanding company exception reports and improving skills in research via APTOS.

  • Produce weekly Pilferage, ECS and Recovered Mismates report from the area and email to your APAM. Teach Store Staff how to properly report all Shrink Fields.
  • Provide a weekly duty report for all activities that occurred in the district. The report shall include all relevant information and what action if any was taken.

Accurate and complete reports are mandatory.

Be available and ready to respond to any store within the area as directed by APAM.

Effectively communicate and partner (teach, coach, and inspire) throughout area of responsibility to execute AP, safety, and operations.

  • Follow corporate guidelines and applicable state and federal laws when dealing with customers or employees suspected of stealing from the company.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company goals through a management style that promotes honest, open-door communications; supportive of total customer service in an effort to foster teamwork.
  • Participate in all Inventories in the district / area. Scan, audit, and recount.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

This individual must be a self-starter who needs little to no guidance on the basics of retail math and analysis. The requirements above are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or ability required.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Asset Protection supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of surveillance systems. Familiarity with CCTV surveillance strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills required.
  • Team management- Manage labor hours, stay compliant with all wage laws, and provide weekly work schedules to team members.
  • Uphold honest & ethical behavior at all times.
  • Periodic travel may be required for out of state locations.
