Position Summary

Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery is looking to hire a full-time Packaging Team Member to join our growing team! This team member is responsible for the day-to-day presentation of all products produced for our retail stores and wholesale orders. They ensure the customer receives the best quality product you must be attentive to detail and follow all standard operating procedures (SOP) in accordance with food safety regulations. Packagers are expected to work as a team, foster a positive work environment, and carry out the core values of Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Receive a large variety of products from other departments and move products onto trays or into packaging while following specific SOP for packaging type, labeling, and presentation.
• Add finishing icing and/or nuts to products as needed
• Learn and become efficient with the necessary equipment required to complete daily tasking.
• Be able to orally communicate with store and bakery staff about product needs and schedules.
• Able to lift/carry 45lbs or more.
• Help with cleaning and sanitizing the room to maintain a clean and sanitized work area including tables, floor, and other equipment.
• Stay informed by reading weekly memos and attending meetings as required.
• Learn and use technology for scheduling, payroll, spreadsheets, and any other forms, checklists, and SOP.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age required for use of equipment/machines.
• Previous production experience preferred not required
• Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Must be available early mornings and occasional nights

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel and crouch. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus. The work involves considerable exposure to airborne food particles and loud noises in a fast-paced environment with people working in close proximity.
