Position Summary:
The Creamery Sales Shift Leader is responsible for ensuring all retail sales associates and scoop shop staff carry out their core functions the “Wright” way. Shift leaders are an active part of the team engaging in customer service, scooping ice cream, supervising others, holding keys, depositing money and communicating with other departments.
This position is based in Providence at Wright’s Creamery, but will require seasonal shifts at The Wright Scoop I in North Smithfield and/or at the Wright Scoop II in Warren. This leader is expected to be flexible, motivate teamwork, foster a positive work environment, and carry out the core values of Wright’s Dairy Farm Bakery and Creamery.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
LMA
Lead. Manage. Accountability.
You are responsible for:
Leading your sales team so shifts are productive and profitable
Making sure everyone on your shift is carrying out their core functions the ‘Wright’ way
Escalating systems issues or personnel concerns to management
Communicate information and cascading messages to appropriate departments and staff
Facilitate opening and closing checklist completion
Double check inventories to prevent shortages
Customer Service
Greet customers and offer assistance
Answer questions accurately and address concerns of staff and customers
Ambassador to the brand by demonstrating excellent knowledge of Wright’s and products
Build and maintain good and lasting relationships with customers and business partners
Proactively take steps to resolve customer issues and complaints; escalate as needed
Sales and Merchandising
Stock merchandise
Operate the POS system and triage basic issues
Maintain and setup menus in POS system
Responsible for preparing cash drawers
Maintain a clean, neat and appealing store environment
Drive exceptional customer service through the scoop window, at scoop counter and in the retail area and lead by example
Assist in meeting or exceeding determined sales goals
Ensure consistent execution of company’s marketing and visual presentation
Develop and keep daily records of store sales, damages, deposits and employee paperwork
Ensure that staff follow correct closing procedures to assure that assets are protected
Keys and Money
Maintain keys needed for opening and closing
Count down register drawers
Maintain change bag
Authorize refunds
Inventory
Take inventory of retail ice cream, toppings, cups, cones, etc
Communicate product outages or potential outages to your manager
Maintain the 86 board
IT and Equipment
Troubleshoot basic register, printer, tablet, and internet connection problems

Travel
Travel is expected between North Smithfield, Providence and Warren, RI during the summer months when the Streamline trailers are open.
Position type/ Expected Hours of Work
Full time position (30 hours, rolling average) Days and hours of work will vary. Evening and weekend work is required.
1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. Customer-facing supervisory experience required
3. Food service experience required, Food service supervisory experience preferred
Compensation
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for tips. Tips are paid weekly in accordance with IRS guidelines.
