Summary: The Manager – IT Quality Assurance collaborates with members of the Transformation team and business users to ensure the readiness and highest quality delivery of our in-house developed and platform solutions. This is a hands-on position and will also be responsible for a team of IT QA Analysts. This role will report on quality metrics and ensure team members, processes, and resources are optimized to provide ongoing support and improvement to products and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and oversee team members in conducting quality assurance activities for applications and systems, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, delegate tasks to Quality Analysts, and ensure effective management of testing processes.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate various testing activities, including functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and data testing for complex programs.
  • Lead test plan review sessions, providing guidance to ensure thorough and accurate testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with project/program managers to understand initiatives, project goals, and requirements.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with Development, Architecture, Infrastructure/Operations, production support, business points of contact, Program/Project Management, and design teams.
  • Work with developers to identify and troubleshoot defects, with a focus on security-related issues.
  • Monitor and report QA progress and defect rates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify, propose, and implement opportunities for enhancing process, technology, and organizational improvement within QA practices.
  • Stay current with new technologies, products, and best practices, applying learnings to improve QA processes.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) processes.
  • Manage IT Quality Analysts, including approving PTO, setting goals, conducting performance reviews, facilitating team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and capacity planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and hands-on experience; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years information systems/web application experience, including at least 5 years in a technology QA management capacity.
  • Experience in health insurance.
  • Experience leading the system, product, integration, browser compatibility, regression, and user acceptance testing/Quality Assurance of client server and Web applications.
  • Experience working with automated functional and load testing tools.
  • Experience testing in an environment with technologies, such as AJAX, HTML, Dojo, CSS, J2EE, SOA, Oracle, SQL Server.
  • Experience working in an agile SDLC environment.
  • Strong client interface, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate technical language to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Employee is required to have at minimum an internet speed of 75 Mbps (standard high-speed internet access).

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.
  • Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.

Internal Pay Grade: 12
The starting pay for this role is $87,497 to $113,747 based on skill level and experience in a similar role.
