Job Summary

The work of Manager-on-Duty includes directing supervisory personnel within assigned functional area; overseeing and advising on staffing requirements; monitor/administer discipline/corrective action by or for subordinates; ensuring customer satisfaction by daily feedback; acting as liaison between first level supervisor and upper management. Proactively monitors the work of assigned employees to ensure that customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality and employee relations meet or exceed standards. Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.

Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to ensure continuity and compliance at all times. Read, understand and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan and ensure that all WFS staff are issued with a relevant company ID and that they are required to display this identity badge. Ensures they administer practices in a fair and equitable manner, where all employees, customers, vendors and other third parties are treated with respect.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in warehouse management or a related field.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and customers.
• Clear communication skills to coordinate with team members, suppliers, and clients.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
• Safety Awareness - Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy items.
• Time Management - Efficient time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility - Adaptability to changing demands and schedules in a fast-paced environment.
• Budget Management - Understanding of budgeting principles to optimize warehouse operations cost-effectively.
• Continuous Improvement Mindset - Willingness to seek out and implement process improvements for increased efficiency and productivity.
