World Wide Technology Holding, LLC is Hiring an IT Team Lead - ATC Delivery Near St. Louis, MO

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play a key role in driving the strategy of applications supporting wwt.com, working in close alignment with product owners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the environment that nurtures drive and enthusiasm within a healthy team.
  • Gather and deliver performance feedback for team members, and regularly coach employees towards meeting behavioral and performance goals.
  • Work with our customers and business stakeholders to ensure that our applications are stable, easy to use and are meeting business expectations.
  • Work to incorporate business feedback into the team's strategy.
  • Collaborate with other development teams, product management, and development leadership to align on the problems we want to solve.
  • Coordinate work assignments within the team and ensure new features and issues are being addressed; balancing speed of delivery and team capacity.
  • Building and delivering software solutions alongside the team, providing technical leadership, and promoting best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver informal and formal presentations to team, department, and business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience managing project initiatives across multiple IT and business organizations.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years prior experience and passion for managing and developing people to their full potential through coaching, mentoring, and servant leadership
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) for both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to think creatively and recognize & encourage creativity in others.
  • 5 years of experience in web development technologies such as:
    • VueJS, Angular, or React
    • JavaScript / NodeJS
    • Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Possess a solid understanding of Agile principles.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Passionate about software development and delivering large and/or complex solutions in an iterative process.
  • In depth understanding and passion for excellence in the WWT Core Values.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or Management Information Systems; A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

World Wide Technology, Inc. is currently seeking a Team Lead for our ATC (Advanced Technology Center) Delivery - Core Development Team. This is a great opportunity to join our development leadership team who exhibit a passion for both leadership and quality software development.

What is the Core Development Team and why join?

The Core Development team's main responsibility is building and maintaining core APIs, components, a design system, and developer productivity tools used by developers throughout our organization. In addition, our team develops and maintains features within the ATC Platform that allow us to directly consume our core services within a customer facing context. You'll join a team of passionate software developers and QA Engineers focused on the evolution of wwt.com and implementing solutions that help WWT's customers make technology decisions.
Our Core Development team is responsible for a variety of critical application infrastructure components across the WWT ecosystem that accelerate custom web application development. We are the maintainers of several reusable services, APIs, and components that other WWT development teams can leverage to make their application development journey a little easier. Our team is passionate about customer experience and developer experience. We balance driving meaningful customer outcomes with creating new efficiencies and enhanced experiences for our internal development community – helping teams ship software with higher quality, resiliency, confidence, and ease.
Here are some recent examples of the impactful work we've been involved in:
  • Collaborated with our UX team to deliver a component library based on our WWT Design System (we call it Blue Steel).
  • Automated accessibility audits of our VueJS components to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Created internal developer tooling to quickly scaffold VueJS projects and NodeJS APIs.
  • Implemented an AI-powered spam detection system to enhance the integrity of our discussion forums on wwt.com and protect our customer service team from unwanted contact submissions.
  • Integrated service requests from wwt.com into a third-party ticketing system to streamline the workflow of our support teams' interactions with customers.
  • Migrated various pages of wwt.com to a newer, upgraded Nuxt application.
  • Built a new Help Center for wwt.com.
  • Enhanced our caching strategy for user information leveraged by multiple Node APIs that rely on quick, accurate user data.
  • Rewrote a legacy, Grails-based API responsible for managing user access in NodeJS.

What will you be doing?

As a Team Lead, you'll be responsible for the delivery of work and for ensuring that the team is high performing and healthy. Along with leading a team of 3-5 developers and a QA Engineer, you will also be designing, building, testing, and delivering software along with the team.
