Workshops for Warriors is Hiring an Enrollment Advisor II/III Near San Diego, CA

Workshops for Warriors® (www.wfw.org) is a nonprofit founded in 2008. Its mission is to place veterans and wounded warriors into advanced manufacturing careers by providing them with industry-leading training, nationally recognized credentials, work experience, and job placement. Training is provided at no cost to veterans. We are rebuilding America’s advanced manufacturing workforce, one veteran at a time with a team of passionate, enthusiastic professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of those we serve, their families, and our country.

Under the general direction of the Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Recruiting the Enrollment Advisor II/III assists and advises prospective students, guiding them through the process of enrolling in a Workshops for Warriors program. The Enrollment Advisor II/III explains the admissions process, reviews entrance requirements, and provides information about the financial obligations of the programs along with educating the individual on the utilization of any applicable financial assistance programs such as SkillBridge, GI Bill, and Title 38 Educational Assistance.

Enrollment Advisors create relationships with potential students, as they help them navigate programs that align with the student’s academic and professional goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with the enrollment process, by answering questions, directing them to critical information, and clarifying the admissions process.
  • Receive and follow up on potential students via phone, email, and SMS relating to enrollment into WFW programs
  • Determining eligibility of prospective students for enrollment based on admissions and campus requirements
  • Ensuring that applications are completed correctly, and the required supporting materials have been provided.
  • Collecting information and qualifying candidates for programs, services, or courses.
  • Providing guidance and recommendations to applicants and prospective candidates
  • Communicate with students throughout the enrollment process and ensure necessary documents are received.
  • Keep informed of new programs and developments within the school to provide the most up-to-date information to prospective students.
  • Maintain detailed records in Salesforce (CRM) for the prospective student through the enrollment cycle.
  • Prepare and maintain progress, conversion, and related reports weekly.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment to deliver strong results.
  • Maintain daily activity metrics and expectations as set for the department.
  • Follow up with prospective students to set appointments, tour the school, sit in on a class(s), facilitate housing needs and/or financial aid requirements.
  • Serve as a backup to the Director of Enrollment.
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Work Experience To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (with or without an accommodation). The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3 years of experience with databases/CRM (Salesforce, preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in inside sales, admissions sales, customer services, higher education, or a related role.
  • Experience working in an educational environment is preferred. 
  • Military experience preferred.

Important Notes 

Position Details: This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position (40 hours/week).

Pay: The hourly rate of pay for this California-based position is $25.00 per hour or $30.00 per hour. The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Dress code: Our office staff works in a business casual or relaxed business casual environment.

Supervisory: No supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to push, move, lift or otherwise bear 10-30lbs (35-75lb W/M). Applications may include but are not limited to repetitive work using a computer keyboard, mouse and headphones while sitting and/or standing at an assigned work desk area.

Environment: The employee works in an office/administration building in an urban industrial neighborhood. Other areas within the school are mixed use such as classrooms, welding and machining areas.

Employee may have additional environmental hazards such as: chemical, electrical, flammable, or mechanical in nature.
