Works-in-Progress Associates is Hiring a Project Manager Near Poughkeepsie, NY

Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team! This position is in-person, Monday-Friday, working with the Office of General Services (OGS) Claims Group to facilitate the processing of delay claims across portfolio statewide.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in engineering/architecture and/or construction related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects. A minimum of 4 years of the experience shall be in the role of assistant project manager responsible for large-scale projects valued above $10 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
  • Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures.
  • Must be able to provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client/facility.
  • Must have a full working knowledge of the change order and cost review process and the review/approval of contractor's payment application.
  • Estimating experience preferred, but not required.
  • A driver's license valid in New York State.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office (including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities:

  • Review delay claims for contractual validity, perform schedule analysis using P6, make recommendations to Contracting Officer on claim resolution.
  • Day-to-day tracking, review and management of delay claims and disputes
  • Audit contractor’s claim costs, including certified payrolls and invoices and negotiate settlements with Contractors.
  • Host fact finding meetings for claims with design and construction staff to facilitate the review of claims.
  • Review project history to assist in forensic delay analysis, including meeting minutes, schedules, and correspondence.
  • Report on high priority projects and problem projects to the executive staff on a monthly basis, or as frequencies needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
