The Institute Community Manager serves as the community manager for the Word on Fire Institute, a dynamic online community focused on forming Catholic evangelists. The Institute Community Manager acts as a liaison between Institute Professors/Fellows and Institute members, helping the Professors/Fellows to manage their communities by providing training and technical support, and serving as a point of contact for all Institute members with questions about the communities. The Institute Community Manager is also responsible for increasing member participation and implementing strategies to increase engagement and continuously improve the community experience.

Directly supervise Institute community leaders, providing leadership, direction, and guidance to achieve Community-specific and Institute-wide goals
Create and manage a community governance framework which dictates how communities are formed, operate, and expand
Serve as a point of contact for Community group leaders and Institute members with questions about Institute communities
Develop and implement strategies to increase the size and engagement of the Institute communities
Ensure that Professors/Fellows are providing regular content packages to Community group leaders
Provide technical support to Professors/Fellows, assisting them to set up groups, communities, webinars, and other online learning events
Coordinate course and community launch schedules, working with Fellows and Professors and contractors to track the engagement with communities; prepare reports for Institute executive leadership on community and fellow engagement
Assist communities in the recruiting of small group leaders
Manage the Institute communities’ membership rosters (both public and private communities)
Onboard new Institute members and orient them to all the resources the Institute has to offer, including the public and private Communities
Provide regular updates to Institute members about new content, including weekly newsletters
Maintain a deep knowledge of all of Word on Fire’s products, initiatives, and content in order to answer community leaders and members’ theological, moral, practical, etc. questions by referring them to relevant Institute resources (e.g., courses, future and previous seminars/workshops, articles, Communities, etc.)
Ensure Institute members are abiding by Word on Fire’s community standards
Facilitate and support monthly live seminars led by Institute Fellows/Professors
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
3 years of experience working with online communities and providing strategic guidance for fostering the growth of online communities
Ability to work occasional evenings
Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style
Outgoing and willing to take charge and connect with Institute community members
Innovative thinker driven toward creating vibrant engagement within the Institute
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional proofreading skills
Commitment to the mission of Word on Fire
Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress
Familiarity with the work of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire
Ability to edit and format content, use online page building tools, schedule posts
Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) and user experience (UX) principles
