Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations for our Infrastructure Sector. This pivotal role reports directly to the Sector Leader and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations, ensuring efficient project delivery, and driving operational excellence within the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Leadership: Provide oversight and guidance to project management teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Resource Allocation: Assist sector discipline leaders with resource allocation, employee development, and training.
  • Project Reviews: Oversee monthly project reviews in conjunction with market directors, practice leaders, and FP&A team.
  • Senior-Level Contacts: Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with senior-level sector leaders within Woolpert and with other organizations and companies.
  • Operational Performance: Analyze operational performance within the Infrastructure Sector and proactively identify areas of improvement.
  • KPI Analysis: Analyze key KPIs such as utilization, net revenue, multiplier, gross profit, and WIP/AR, providing action plans for improvement.
  • Financial Planning: Liaise with the Sector Leader to develop financial plans and ensure company-wide operational compliance.
  • Professional Growth: Support the continued growth and development of a professional environment for a creative enterprise, built on survey, geomatics, engineering design, and delivery excellence.
  • Forecasting: Work with Market Directors, Discipline Leaders, finance, and accounting to forecast the volume of work and identify deviations from the plan/outlook budget.
  • Financial Outlook: Prepare financial outlooks and other financial performance forecasts.
  • People Management: Direct reports will include the Survey & Geomatics discipline and project coordinator team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, Survey, Geography or a related field and 12 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 years of leadership in an operations role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proven record of delivering work, managing teams, and developing collaborative practices.
  • Core competencies in professional staff development, mentorship, and retention.
  • Willingness to see opportunities and act.
  • Ability to lead and be decisive with a strategic mindset.
  • Proven financial and operational acumen.
  • Current professional registration, if applicable.
  • Must be able to travel to meet the needs and demands of the practice area.
