Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer Intern in the Ohio area.

Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment with ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer Intern in our Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, or Cleveland Ohio offices for the current and Spring semester (December-May). This internship will be a part-time, as-needed position working approximately 20 hours a week. The Intern will work alongside the Woolpert team on a variety of projects, but with a focus on data gathering, data analysis, research, and planning. In particular, the work will involve materials science and techno-economic analyses to develop guidance for government agencies. The work could also include a wide range of design tasks for DOT, municipalities, the federal government, or the private sector. Interns will be assigned to an office rather than a single Team, allowing them to gain experience across the Transportation Disciplines. All these projects directly impact the communities where we live and work.

Responsibilities

· Work as part of an industry leading team. · Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside Licensed Engineers that are experts in their fields. · Assist on research and analysis. · Assist on report writing and research/data presentation. · Analyze data and draw conclusions to guide public agencies.· Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients. · Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence. · Work across multiple disciplines to gain a variety of knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

Apply if you think this can be a good fit · Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university. · Pursing a Bachelors, Master’s or PhD degree in Civil Engineering or related field. · Have a solid interest in civil engineering, materials science, and transportation. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. · Exceptional multitasking and time management skills. · Ability to research and work independently as Woolpert utilizes a hybrid work environment meaning part time in the office and part time from home (to be coordinated with supervisor). · Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and/or Microstation a bonus, but not required.
