Responsibilities

The Shop Foreman is a leadership role whose primary responsibility is to ensure the shop produces the best quality work possible in an expeditious manner for a high volume, high production service shop.

• Implementation and effective execution of a successful quality control process is a top priority
• Bring your solutions-driven processes!
• In partnership with Shop Manager, assign repairs and services to technicians to ensure the highest level of production
• Monitor status as technicians move through the repair process
• Answer technicians’ questions and help them move past obstacles towards completing repairs and services
• Must maintain standards of excellence, integrity, and precision for technicians and repairs
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of how to inspect vehicles, identify concerns, and recommend needed repairs and services
• The Foreman acts as a manager, mentor, and coach to technicians and will accomplish the following :
• Help them complete difficult repairs
• Increase their efficiency
• Assist with diagnostics
• Provide direction in difficult situations
• Manage technician performance

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience working as a service technician in a dealership setting
• Minimum of 3 years’ Shop Foreman experience
• Demonstrated success mentoring and leading an effective and cohesive team
• Master-Level knowledge and skill in the following :
• Passenger automobile workings and systems
• Passenger automobile diagnostics to include :
• Using a diagnostic tree
• Performing testing procedures to discover cause of malfunctions
• Knowing how to repair malfunctions
• Performing mechanical repairs and services, including removing and reinstalling of parts to complete service procedures
• Performing thorough inspections for the purpose of determining needed service and repairs based on the miles and condition of the vehicle
• Integrity and honesty are absolute requirements
• Excellent communication skills with a track record as an effective active listener
• Excellent organization skills
• Ability to type and utilize all functions of a computer and various operating programs
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and subsequent random drug screens
