About the role

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer who will, as part of our team, develop solutions for our cloud products. As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll contribute to our cloud platform. Together with your team, you have the responsibility of building, maintaining and deploying our cloud platform in such a way that it is as highly stable, dependable and secure as possible. You will build tooling to allow our team of operators to manage customer environments. You’ll be required to think about the architecture and new functionality and bring those to life together with your team. The core of the current technology stack is built within AWS. Besides that, we use multiple languages, libraries and tools within our platform, as long as it helps us achieve our goals. We expect you to pick up new things quickly and to strengthen the team with your own experience and ideas.

You will need to achieve a good balance between attention to detail, creating fast feedback loops and quality.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborate with a team of Cloud Operators and software engineers

• Help to specify and build new functionality

• Help the team improve and maintain the WoodWing Cloud infrastructure

• Create solutions to be proud of, for large, international clientele.

What we’re looking for

• Experience with at least 2 programming languages such as Java, Typescript or Python

• Proficiency with working on the command line and creating shell scripts

• Experience with infrastructure as code

• Interest in both software and system engineering

• Native Dutch or English speaker

What would be nice

• Experience with a cloud platform, preferably AWS

• Experience with Docker

• Experience as a software developer

• Enthusiastic about open source software

As a Cloud Engineer, you’re responsible for improving and maintaining a complete platform to run our software which is deployed by our Cloud Operators using CloudFormation, Makefiles, shell and Python scripts. The platform is able to host our software using EC2 and Docker images, which are built using CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Step Functions and EC2 Image Builder.
