Woodward School is Hiring a Business Manager Near Quincy, MA

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance preferred

Bookkeeping experience preferred

Minimum three years experience in a Administrative Assistant or Business Office Setting

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to take on additional administrative duties

Quickbooks Online Certified

Google Suites proficient

The Business Manager is a key member of The Woodward School for Girls’ senior administrative team. This role involves monitoring the school's financial and business health, collaborating with various departments, and ensuring smooth day-to-day business.

We are seeking candidates with an accounting background with a minimum of three years experience in a business office setting. The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and demonstrate proficiency in financial management and reporting for NonProfits.

Salary: $55,000 benefits

Responsibilities:

Accounting/Business Office:

  • Create Budget with collaboration from Assistant Head of School and Head of School
  • Enter annual approved budget into Quickbooks
  • Manage general ledger and accounts receivable/payable
  • Monthly and Quarterly Reports from Quickbooks
  • Reconcile 5 bank accounts monthly. Also review bank accounts for WFA and GALA.
  • Pay all Accounts Payable and ensure accordance with budget.
  • Reconcile and maintenance Accounts Receivable in Quickbooks by comparing to TADS.
  • Administer payroll and benefits
  • Coordinate annual filings and audits
  • Collections on accounts in Arrears
  • Manage all petty cash and club finances
  • Manage the School store inventory and income/expense
  • Maintain all investments accounts and reconcile interest and dividend income to accounts monthly.
  • Oversee school's liability and property insurance needs and requirements
  • Act as the liaison between our office bookkeeper and the Woodward School.

Engagement with Board and Head of School:

  • Communicate regularly with the Head of School and Finance Committee
  • Provide financial reports to Head of School / Finance Committee

Admissions:

  • Enrollment and ReEnrollment of New and Returning Students in our enrollment system and tuition management system TADS.
  • Assisting Director of Enrollment in sending emails to potential students/family members, uploading files to Ravena, our admissions portal, answering admissions emails, preparing for events. and ordering promotional items
  • Oversee Financial Aid in collaboration with the Head of School & Enrollment Director.
  • Process Financial Aid request through SSS Tads.

Human Resources:

  • Leads the full lifecycle for all exempt and non-exempt hiring including posting job advertisements, coordination of interviews, extending job offers and onboarding
  • Oversee employee Handbook including compliance with employment laws and responsibilities
  • Provide support to staff on employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Oversee employee benefits program including health insurance and leave policies School Life
  • Believe in Woodward’s mission and advocate for girls only education
  • Be a visible presence at school
  • Attend all school community events and activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments to help Woodward carry out our mission

Furthermore, as the key point person for human resources, you will spearhead the posting of employment opportunities, oversee the onboarding process for new employees, manage employee benefits, and facilitate all aspects of human resources management.
