Woodside Hotel Group Ltd. is Hiring a Banquet Server, Limited, Harvest Inn Near Saint Helena, CA

The Harvest Inn is an idyllic resort designed to celebrate the vineyard way of life, with 81 luxurious accommodations nestled into four uniquely crafted neighborhoods, two secluded swimming pools, and a plush spa with indoor and outdoor facilities. Surrounded by lush landscaping of expansive clipped lawns, Harvest Inn has serene shaded groves, partially forested by towering redwoods. Harvest Inn is home to gardens of agricultural botanicals that produce many of the ingredients on the menus of our on-property restaurant, Harvest Table.

We are seeking Banquet Servers to join our team.

Our Banquet Servers create the perfect set up for every event, whether it be corporate meeting or a celebratory gathering. Not only do they cater to each guest's individual needs, they ensure the occasion will be flawless, with friendly, gracious and professional service, all while delivering the high standards of quality we are known for.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports to Banquet Manager at the beginning of the shift for assignment of various functions.
  • Reviews Banquet Event Order to familiarize self with upcoming function.
  • Assists in setting room by placing china, glass, silverware, linen, props, service equipment etc., in their proper place.
  • Prepares bread baskets, lemons, and ice water, butter, cream and accompaniments and refills salt/pepper shakers.
  • Greets guests in a friendly manner with a smile.
  • Carries and serves Banquet meals to assigned section.
  • Displays knowledge and recites food entrée and preparation to the guest.
  • Regularly monitors station to ensure all guests’ needs are met.
  • Replenishes beverages as necessary to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Observes his/her stations to respond to any additional requests and to determine when the meal has been completed.
  • Promptly removes dishes as guest completes each course and/or at the end of the meal.
  • Clears tables at the end of the function.
  • Places items in the designated storage area.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.

Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the Hotel facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

  • Able to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern demonstrating empathy with the guest and providing positive and proactive solutions
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to move through a crowded room to serve Banquet guests.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma is preferred. Three to six months prior Food and Beverage experience is preferred. Excellent wine knowledge is also preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified in the Responsible Service of Alcohol preferred and ServeSafe/Food Handler Certification required. CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred.

PAY SCALE

The pay scale for this position is $28.00 per hour. This is the pay rate for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
