We are offering an opening for a part-time veterinary assistant at our busy small animal hospital in Port Orchard, Washington. We are proud to be a VetCor hospital with many benefits.
As a veterinary assistant you will be responsible for restraining pets for a variety of procedures, bringing clients into rooms to obtain relevant medical history and charting, animal care, surgical pack preparation, and facility cleaning. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized, and a team player.
This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel, walk and be on your feet all day. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as this is a job with high public exposure. Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more and handle large dogs. We are a feline-friendly practice so the ability/willingness to work with cats is necessary.
Experience in a veterinary hospital setting and basic knowledge of animal restraint is strongly preferred, however we are willing to train the right applicant. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is able to anticipate the needs of the technicians, doctors and clients. This is a part time position including Saturdays, so flexibility with days and hours is a must.
If you feel that you meet these requirements and could make a good addition to our team, please reply with a cover letter and resume to kkornish@vetcor.com.
While we appreciate everyone who applies, only the most qualified will be contacted.
