ResponsibilitiesWoodland Clinic is a licensed department of Woodland Memorial Hospital. As such, Woodland Clinic bills separately for professional fees and technical fees according to payor type. Claims submission is done both by electronic and manual processes. MedCare technical billing is done in accordance with HCFA designated Ambulatory Payment Classification requirements.
Key responsibilities of this position are to ensure appropriate insurance carrier billing, relative to CPT and ICD 9 coding requirements and insurance carrier specific protocols, such as: claim type, claim format, and timely filing limitations. Incumbent will be assigned primary responsibility for billing activities, related to a specific payor and/or focused accountability in cash application, coverage record, or reports reconcilliation to support billing activities related to a specific payor. As part of a billing team aligned with a specific payor, incumbent is expected to be functionally knowledgeable in each of the specific job duties.
