POSITION: HEAD CAMP COUNSELOR

STATUS: SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

WORK SCHEDULE: SEASONAL FULL-TIME, BEGINNING LATE MAY OR EARLY JUNE. FIVE DAYS PER WEEK, TIME VARIES, SHIFTS ARE 8:35 AM TO 4:35PM OR 9:00AM TO 5:15PM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY. REQUIRED TO WORK FOURTH OF JULY (8:30AM TO APPROX. 5:00PM) AND SPECIAL EVENTS AS NECESSARY.

General Summary:

The Head Camp Counselor position works for the Recreation Department and is responsible for implementation and promotion of Camp Woodbridge programs for members of the Association. This position works under the Recreation Supervisor and is in charge of supervising the daily operations, staff and campers of Camp Woodbridge located at South Lake Beach Club. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting and working on special projects in the Recreation Department.

Essential Functions:

Supervision of Camp Counselors.

Supervision of Campers.

Running the daily operations at Camp.

Reviewing the weekly staff schedule.

Taking inventory of equipment and supplies.

Maintaining Public Safety Standards.

Assists the Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Manager at In-Service Training.

Organize and process incident reports.

Responsible for helping with the set up and spending the night during the Family Overnight Event.

Responsible for the Recreation Hand-Held Radios, Keysets, Cellphone and First Aid bag.

Periodic evaluation of the South Lake Beach Club to recommend necessary maintenance and identify safety hazards that need correction.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Manager.

Job Qualifications/Skills and Abilities:

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. Requires current, valid certification of Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.

Skills

Ability to demonstrate and clarify to residents and guests established policies and standards using a customer service based dialogue.

Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.

Ability to act calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Accuracy and attention to detail. Must have leadership skills and decision-making ability.

Ability to work as a team member in recreational events.

Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
