DUTIES

Financial Management

  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the ED; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes monthly and keep administrative team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
  • Generate monthly reports to monitor and forecast expenses, revenues and cash balances to effectively manage cash flow and clearly show budget to actual.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable and maintain the books through board approved accounting software.
  • Manage the accounting cycle from initial data and transactional inputs through to the timely production of managerial/board reports and monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Work with Executive Director and administrative team to create, monitor and update grant budgets.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; maintain the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
  • Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
  • Serve as primary contact to Board Treasurer and Finance Committee.
  • Organize and maintain vendor records.
  • Manage all financial activities maintaining compliance with the highest ethical standards, all applicable laws, regulations and requirements of funders.

Human Resources:

  • Responsible for compensation and benefits management and legal compliance.
  • Prepare and submit bi-monthly payroll.
  • Allocate payroll and track time use in compliance with funding requirements.
  • Support hiring efforts and new employee processing.

Operations:

  • Oversee information technology including software applications, databases, and computer network.
  • Responsible for vendor relations, office maintenance and relationship with renters.
  • Responsible with the Executive Director to review and purchase employee health insurance, professional liability insurance, facilities insurance, and director and officials management insurance.
  • Supervise resale shop manager.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help with phone coverage as needed.
  • Attend organization staff meetings as required
  • Attend trainings and continuing education activities as assigned.
  • Participate in promoting the Women’s Center through community education and public relation efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned and needed, including special projects.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management/Administration.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive financial responsibility and operations management experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of grants management.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs for accounting, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, and Internet.

This position is required to:

  • Consent to a Criminal Background Check.
  • Maintain a good driving record and carry liability insurance for passengers in personal vehicle.
  • Provide proof of vehicle insurance
  • Have access to a car during scheduled work hours.
  • Reply to emails and answer phone messages within 24 business hours of receipt.
  • Must have a bank account for direct deposit of paychecks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
