Wise Staffing Group is Hiring a Facilities Technician Near Decatur, AL
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to oversee the upkeep and compliance of the exterior of both plants. This position will be responsible for maintenance/facilities functions for both plants as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, twist, turn and use of hands and fingers on a regular basis.
- Lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate contractor for grounds maintenance and ensure grounds are compliant with GMP standards.
- Maintain interior lighting, and exterior lighting and fencing of the facilities.
- Schedule and perform fire extinguisher inspections.
- Schedule and perform emergency lighting inspections.
- Use sound judgment in determining whether to contract repairs or perform them personally.
- Develop schedule for inspections to ensure compliance.
- Conduct inspections of:
- The grounds
- Kill zone
- Fences
- Parking lots
- Lighting and general appearance for both plants.
- Translate the inspection results into actions required to maintain the facilities and to prevent compliance issues.
- Responsible for reporting food safety issues to management and/ or Quality Assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to work alone and unsupervised
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Microsoft office software for documentation and communication
- Ability to safely operate fork lifts and scissors lifts.
- General working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Understand GMP requirements pertaining to grounds and facilities.
- Read and interpret blue prints
