Position Title: Vice President of Productivity & Sustainability

Department: Executive office / Division of Productivity & Sustainability

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position(s) Supervised: TBD

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Vice President of Productivity and Sustainability leads the organization’s efforts to support Wisconsin businesses, communities, and individuals in harnessing the economic opportunity presented by the clean energy economy.

Responsibilities

The VP will deliver and align activities to support the following primary roles:

  • Manage the process to establish and administer Wisconsin’s Green Innovation Fund.
  • Lead WEDC’s efforts to support regional biogas, hydrogen, solar, and other alternative energy economies that promote commercially viable energy generation, transportation, and commercial adoption.
  • Lead WEDC’s efforts to support Wisconsin manufacturers in increasing their energy efficiency and productivity while decreasing their carbon footprint.
  • Oversee the Division’s operations plan and budget and provide leadership to the team.

The VP will spend a majority of their time in these activities:

  • Set and communicate vision and goals to partners.
  • Build strong relationships with state, regional and local partners including with the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with state agencies, including the Wisconsin Public Service Commission’s State Energy Office and its Focus on Energy Program to accelerate electrification and modernization of Wisconsin’s manufacturing sector.
  • Support companies investing and engaged in sectors including, but not limited to:
    • Electric vehicle production up and down its supply chain
    • EV charging infrastructure production
    • Production of renewable energy infrastructure including:
      • Solar
      • Wind
      • Geothermal
      • Hydrogen
      • Renewable Natural Gas
      • Batteries and other energy storage solutions
  • Develop and execute strategies to secure federal, philanthropic, and other sources of funding to capitalize clean energy investment in Wisconsin.
  • Manage internal and external processes guiding the Wisconsin Green Innovation Fund including its:
    • Structure
    • Administration
    • Reporting
    • Governance
    • Performance Management
  • Serve as ambassador for WEDC at public events, conferences, and meetings regarding clean energy financing and economic development.
  • Partipate in membership organizations to enhance WEDC's professional development.
  • Participate as a membre of the Executive Team in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Support WEDC's mission by accomplishing related results as needed and assigned.
