Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is Hiring a Food Program Area Coordinator Near Milwaukee, WI

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin's children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin's young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early child care. WECA's mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin's young children through a rich continuum of services.

Area Coordinators are responsible for monitoring visits for WECA Food Program participants on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure compliance with all program policies and procedures . This position is responsible for the coverage for southern Wisconsin in the following counties: Vernon, Crawford, Grant, Richland, Sauk, Iowa, LaFayette, Dane, Green, Rock, Jefferson Walworth, Racine, Kenosha & southern Milwaukee County. For reference, please see attached picture. This person is responsible or the BLUE area.

Travel is required for this position.

This is a full-time position with full benefits with a caseload of 100 providers or more.

Living in the state of Wisconsin is required for this position.

Experience working in the early childcare industry is required for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor WECA CACFP participants in their family childcare homes for compliance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) regulations concerning the CACFP
  • Recruit and enroll childcare providers into the WECA CACFP
  • Disseminate written program compliance materials and forms needed to meet program requirements and assist providers with recognizing and remedying of non-compliances; Must provide documentation and tracking of non-compliance
  • Review and instruct providers on forms to be retained by provider for program documentation
  • Complete required home visit forms , online monitoring , and provide information for the WECA Madison support staff
  • Provide written nutrition materials and instruct providers on the nutrition education component required annually
  • Communicate between participating providers and WECA claims staff for consistent and efficient performance of USDA requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of CACFP requirements through trainings and conference calls

Education & Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and course work
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and attend to multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Ability to attend to detail-oriented work, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions
  • Knowledge of the child care and early care and education system and workforce in Wisconsin
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, data entry, word processing, specifically Word, Excel, and Access programs

Pay rate for this position is $39.00 per visit, $100 per month for office, $19.81 per hour for meetings and training & .51 per mile for reimbursement.
