Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our WI DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORIES facility.
FTE: 1.0
*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Casual*
*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*
Shift: 1st shift (7:30 am - 4:00 pm). Hybrid (onsite/remote)
Summary:
Responsible for billing and follow-up of patient and client accounts based on working knowledge of regulations governing CPT codes, diagnosis codes, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance guidelines. Researches and resolves pending and unpaid laboratory claims to resolution.
Requirements:
1. High School graduate.
2. For external candidates, 4 years insurance billing experience.
3. Working knowledge of medical billing practices such as contractual adjustments and cash posting is preferred.
4. Ability to independently resolve problems successfully on the phone with clients, patients and internal departments.
5. Working knowledge of Epic desirable.
6. Training expertise and experience preferred.
7. For current employees, one year (2080 hours) successful work experience in the Billing Department including probationary and annual performance evaluations with rankings of Meet Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, or Exceptional on all of the essential functions, attendance, customer service standards and has successfully passed all internal pre-qualification competency courses.
