Wisconsin Department of Health Services is Hiring a Resident Care Supervisor Near Union Grove, WI

Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting for a Resident Care Supervisor.

Work hours are: First Shift – 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Second Shift - 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM, or Third Shift - 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. All shifts required to work every other weekend.

SWC is a state run, licensed and certified Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD). SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. Position Summary

As an Resident Care Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising, coaching and developing the skills of CNAs of all levels and Therapy Assistants.
  • Participating in the development and daily implementation of Active Treatment Plans for residents.
  • Coaching staff in the implementation of treatment programs designed by an interdisciplinary treatment team, monitoring residents' progress, and participating as a member in the team planning and review process.

We are looking for individuals that can multi-task the dynamic workload at SWC.

Salary Information

The starting salary is between $33.93 and $34.98 per hour (approximately between $70,500 and $72,700 per year), depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Resident Care Supervisor and is in pay schedule/range 81/04.

Job Details

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following:

  • Experience providing active treatment, care, and ensuring safety for residents or clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Examples of active treatment include:
    • Interaction and relationship building with residents
    • Documentation of goal outcomes
    • Informal and formal implementation of goals
    • Engagement of activities based on individual resident interests
    • Engagement in life routines
  • Experience in a leadership role performing tasks such as coaching, mentoring, guidance and/or training to other staff.
  • Experiencing using Microsoft Office to perform tasks such as emailing and typing correspondence, record keeping, entering and verifying data, etc.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in a supervisory role performing tasks such as conducting performance evaluations, resolving conflict, assigning/reviewing work of subordinates, scheduling, interviewing, or recommending hiring of staff.
  • Experience working with ICF/IIF and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience participating in quality and/or service improvement initiatives.
