WHAT WE’LL NEED

  • Lead team of 3 quality assurance team members that will execute and deliver against a robust Global quality assurance strategy covering all aspect of global quality assurance, food safety, supplier quality assurance and metrics associated with quality performance. 
  • Use recognized industry and regulatory practices and procedures to execute Wingstop’s food safety strategies, to ensure brand protection by validating all current and potential suppliers to Wingstop restaurants provide products that are safe, conforming, and consistent.
  • Responsible for developing corporate food safety and quality assurance policies, sanitation GMP’s, HACCP programs.
  • Ensure poultry suppliers meet/exceeds Local/Regional regulatory requirements for microbiological pathogens (Salmonella and Campylobacter performance standards) and requirements for processing raw poultry products, animal welfare programs.
  • For chicken products, works in conjunction with Supply Chain Regional leader to track and analyze plant metrics that affect product, i.e. bird weight and case counts to ensure companies target specification.
  • Organizes test kitchen cuttings as required; performs product evaluations and compiles data for report to stakeholders and suppliers. 
  • Develop and enforce the Wingstop standard for animal welfare and husbandry within our supply chain.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices for food manufacturing, preparation, and handling according to regional and local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors food labeling, safe food production and safe food handling to ensure Wingstop restaurants are in compliance with such laws and regulations. Notifies Supply Chain team of any impending or proposed regulatory changes.
  • Lead New Product Commercialization and Continuous Improvement of products to comply with Brand or regional standards. 
  • Responsible for approving and maintaining supplier’s product specifications, labels and quality documents for all food and paper goods.
  • Analyzes supplier production reports and 3rd party audit reports for variances or deviations from Wingstop specifications.
  • Manage supplier’s participation in Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) audits, (BRC, SQF, etc.), independent third parties, internal, and regulatory entities. Analyze results and gather corrective action plans for audit non-conformance. 
  • Build and manage market quality monitoring program that engages brand partner field visits to monitor and validate product at a restaurant level and provide detailed feedback to supplier partners.
  • Manage robust QA metrics system focusing on case credit submission rate reduction and measuring/improving product uniformity across North America restaurant system.
  • Ensure timely credit processing and robust supplier review program to maintain brand partner satisfaction and drive additional cost of goods improvement.
  • Lead and manage relationship with Wingstop distributor partners to ensure adherence to best practice across delivery chain and minimize QA issues associated with distribution and transportation.
  • Lead cold chain management adherence program system wide.
  • Oversee and monitor performance of domestic distribution network ensuring Wingstop’s corporate social responsibility practices.
  • Innovation-take a lead role in the discovery, implementation, execution, and tracking of innovations and cost savings projectswithin the Wingstop system as well as at the suppliers’ facilities utilizing a continuous improvement process. 
  • Address and resolve issues related to material quality, price, service, and delivery.
  • Responsible for the implementation and coordination of supplier transitions with cross-functional teams and matrix resources tied to strategic sourcing activities (including overseeing on-line qualification trials, sample testing, and distribution testing)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Quality & Food Safety, Animal Science or Food Science preferred.CPFS, PACO, FSCPA, Six SIGMA, BRC, PSQI are preferred certifications.
  • Microsoft Office, Power BI, and intermediate systems skills preferred. 
  • 5 years in Quality & Food safety or relevant industry
