Wingspan Life Resources is Hiring a NEW: Mental Health DSP - Richfield Near Richfield, MN

FT, PT and On-Call Mental Health DSP - $22.40/hr
Wingspan Life Resources has current full-time, part-time, awake overnight, and on-call openings for qualified candidates with group home experience to join our outstanding team of Mental Health Direct Support Professionals (MHDSP) at our new program opening soon in Richfield. The MHDSP provides support and supervision to clients with disabilities and/or mental illness that need a higher level of supports in a specialized home setting.
NOTE: When hiring for a new house that is not open, please note that the training hours before the site opens will be daytime hours. Once the new home opens your regular schedule and hours will begin.

Generous Benefits Package:

Our Hiring Process:
Submit your resume and complete the short application on our website. Job candidates will be considered for one of our Full-Time, Awake Overnight, Part-Time, or On-Call openings for our new Richfield location.
Summary of duties:
Enable individuals to make choices in all areas of their lives. Encourage use of public resources and recreational facilities; provide community integration opportunities.
Assist individuals with daily routines including, but not limited to, household tasks; cooking and eating; individual self-care such as bathing, showering, or brushing teeth; socializing; use of leisure time; health and safety; money management; and behavior management.
Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
Implements formal/informal crisis plans, program plans and/or behavioral objectives using person-centered planning.
Maintain documentation, record keeping and participate in meetings and complete required training.
Demonstrate proficiencies of training and pass minimum work performance standards.
Locate, read, understand, and implement all Wingspan Life Resources policies, procedures, and Incident and emergency procedures for the site.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Program Abuse Prevention plan and of the individual’s background, skills, program plans, ISSMA, CSSPA, and IAPP.
Takes initiative when responding to a crisis, monitors the safety of individuals and provides support and supervision in a therapeutic manner with the least restrictive methods of intervention.
Document methods, progress, and results of all service delivery and interventions with measurable, factual data.
Qualifications:
Must have experience working in a group home setting.
18 years of age or older
High school diploma or its equivalent
Ability to clearly communicate, read, and writing skills adequate to write narrative documentation in grammatically correct sentences.
Must be comfortable with and willing to assist with client's personal cares such as bathing, showering, brushing teeth, etc.
Must be comfortable with computers
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to complete tasks such as shoveling, mowing, vacuuming, shopping, and pushing a wheelchair
A valid Driver's License, reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
The ability to successfully pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services.
Preferred:
One year experience working with individuals with disabilities and mental illness and/or a degree in Psychology or Social Services
Experience with assisting individuals with diabetes
