Wingspan Life Resources is Hiring an In-Home DSP Metro Area -1500 Dollar New Hire Incentive Near Saint Paul, MN

In-Home Direct Service Providers (IHDSP) - $18.55/hr
Wingspan Life Resources currently has daytime, evening, and weekend In-Home Direct Support Professional (IHDSP) opportunities to serve our In-Home clients with developmental and other disabilities.
In Home staff assist our clients who live in their own homes with various needed tasks such as: outings in the community, assistance with appointments and errands, or help around their houses. We have current opportunities for our daytime, evening, and weekend positions. Experience is not required, and paid training is provided.
Please note: These positions are not in group homes and do not offer overnight hours..
Sign-On Bonus!
New hires can also take advantage of our $1500 sign-on bonus for all of our DSP positions: $500 after the first 4 months of service, $500 again after 8 months, and an additional $500 after 1 year. Take some time to get to know our clients and organization; we think you'll love the experience!
Generous Benefits Package:
Employees scheduled to work 20 hours or more are offered: PTO Accrual, Company Paid Life, Short-term, Long-term disability insurance, and enrollment in our 401(k) plan fully vested and matched at 4%.
Employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more are offered: Medical and Dental Insurance, PTO Accrual, Company Paid Life, Short-term, Long-term disability insurance, and enrollment in our 401(k) plan fully vested and matched at 4%.
What You Will Do:
The IHDSP provides support, training, and assistance to individuals in their own homes. The IHDSP works throughout the metro in Ramsey, Washington, Dakota and Hennepin Counties. Each client is picked up at home or work and taken out in the community for leisure or is at the client’s home assisting with cooking, cleaning, shopping, medical appointments, etc. Employees work with one or two people for several hours including transporting the client(s), or work with groups of 5 to 10 clients for events. Employees may use their own vehicle or use a Wingspan vehicle. The IHDSP is responsible to protect and promote the health, safety and well-being of each client.
Our Hiring Process:
After submitting your resume and completing the short application on our website, our coordinators review your application, contact you, and discuss with you the current open hours we have available to meet the needs of our clients and find a schedule and locations which work for you. We have a variety of open shifts which may also be combined to help you work the number of hours you are seeking.
Some examples of current clients seeking assistance are: a woman who needs assistance to access her community; a man who needs assistance presetting his medications and other tasks; a woman who needs to attend medical appointments, go into her community, shop, and have a companion; and a man who needs help with house tasks grocery shopping, and rides.
Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, read, and write in English
  • Must be comfortable using a computer
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lb
  • Ability to complete tasks such as shoveling, mowing, vacuuming, shopping, and pushing a wheelchair.
  • The ability to successfully pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services
  • A valid Driver's License, reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check
  • The ability to have passion for helping individuals feel happy, successful, and safe in their lives is highly desired.
