Green Street School is seeking a full-time position for an elementary school social worker/counselor for the 2024-25 school year. Job responsibilities include providing consultation on student social/emotional needs to classroom teachers as well as, developing and supporting SEL programs and interventions, supporting behavioral intervention plans in consultation with behavior support staff, leading student social skills and counseling groups, and assisting with crisis management as needed.
Candidates for this position will work closely with the school wellness and behavior support teams which includes school counselors, nurses, a BCBA and the principal to collaborate around student support. Qualified applicants should be prepared to work with families and community partners to best support the needs of our students and families. Candidates should also be willing to conduct and provide staff and community education on SEL. Applicants must have the ability to maintain positive relationships with students, families, state agencies and community partners.
Applicants for this position should be well versed in counseling, therapeutic and/or restorative practices, as well as, have the ability to support students and families in crisis; a willingness and the ability to provide home visits is preferred.Certification in school guidance counselor, LCMHC or LICSW is highly preferred. Candidates should be licensed or licensable in the State of Vermont in either School Counseling or School Social Work.
