Plant Manager

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Plant Manager to oversee the central energy plant operations. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, managing plant resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties

• Develop and implement production plans to meet operational goals
• Manage plant operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and quality assurance
• Manages efficient operations, monitoring and maintaining the lowest practicable energy costs
• Lead and mentor the Asssitant Plant Manager to optimize performance and productivity
• Respectful and professional service provided to all central plant constituents (clients, team members, contractors, vendors, etc.)
• Ensures all appropriate records are maintained, such as logs and inventories of equipment and tools
• Oversees all maintenance activities are ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Ensures emergency responses are handled swiftly and appropriately
• Researches, maintains and communicates regulatory requirements of the central energy plant
• Ensures that team members understand and utilize safety procedures and safety equipment at all time
• Develops a central energy plant annual budget, identifies various central energy plant operational and maintenance expenses, and identifies future central energy plant costs, such as projected capital needs
• Manages operations and maintenance within budget parameters
• Builds a cohesive, successful central energy plant team through talent development
• Talent development includes, but is not limited to, acquiring talent, training talent, reviewing talent and results
• Serves team members to effectuate their success
• Communicate talent development and expectations
• Provide team members with resources to succeed
• Seeks continual personal and corporate growth by expanding knowledge and skills through research, training, and education
• Completes Win-Sam's yearly assigned BASIC Safety Training
• Available for 24-hour call out, if needed
• Performs other miscellaneous assigned duties

Skills

• Must have excellent knowledge of HVAC equipment and maintenance
• Must be able to record and interpret readings for required equipment and teach others
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, operations, and duties
• Ability to organize and maximize the efficiency of the team
• Ability to lead and communicate with others successfully
• Ability to apply common sense understanding when dealing with any problem
• Ability to perform basic math skills including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply moderate knowledge of computers and office equipment
• Ability to read and interpret miscellaneous drawings and schematics Strong background in plant management and planning
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to assemble and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams

Working Conditions

• Works with hazardous chemicals
• Works with high ambient noises that require hearing protection
• Works in severe work conditions such as hot weather, high humidity, rain, storms, Etc.
• Works in the vicinity of high-voltage electrical components
• Works with systems using natural gas, oils, grease, refrigerants, and fuels
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
• Must be able to repeatedly walk, sit, stand, climb, twist/turn, push/pull, squat, crawl/kneel, reach above shoulder
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements
• Average close/distance vision is necessary to record logs and operate equipment
• Must be able to communicate effectively and be understood by others
• Must be able to hear the various equipment to diagnose issues

Minimum Qualifications

• Eight years of project/plant management or similar experience
• High School Education
• Five technical courses in the plant field
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certification
