Water Treatment Plant Operator D
Department: Utilities/WTP Reports to: Plant Chief Operator
Summary: Under close supervision, performs basic maintenance work in the operation of a City Water Treatment (WT) Plant; learns to monitor, inspect, maintain, and adjust equipment according to job specifications and Utilities Department technical standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High school diploma or GED required AND one year of maintenance experience.

Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed in Water Treatment Plant facility; required to perform moderate physical work, and lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Physical dexterity is required to work in confined spaces and use precision tools and equipment. Must be available to work on rotating shift and must be available for 24-hour call. Work overtime is required. City approved safety shoes must be worn.
License and certification requirements: A Texas State Driver's License is required. Class D Wastewater license from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is required within the specified timeframe prescribed by the department.
