Title: Project Management Intern
Location: Canby, OR
Wilson Construction Co. has a paid internship opportunity at our Headquarters in Canby, Oregon for a Project Management Intern. The Project Management Intern will work within the Operations Department and with other departments (Environmental, Bids, Safety, and Accounting) as it applies to their work. This is an office position and though the majority of hours will be spent in the office, it will also include hours spent in the field visiting projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Review bid documents and thoroughly understand the scope of work, specifications, and drawings on assigned projects.
• Assist in identifying subcontractor scope of work.
• Assist in developing an efficient construction work plan that includes support facilities, storage areas, and access.
• Assist in developing a plan for sufficient material and equipment resources.
• Prepare project reports and maintain files.
• Maintain a daily log of work activities, meetings, and significant conversations or verbal directions.
• Attend bid meetings as necessary.
• Conduct job site visits as necessary.
• Become familiar with and always practice safety and workplace practices.
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering or related major.
• Experience in MS Office and Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Must work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Able to travel to attend meetings or make project visits which may include overnight stays.
• The internship is a 40-hour work week, over a predetermined duration to accommodate the candidate’s summer break.
