Wilson & Company is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Community/Transportation Planner to join our national Midwest planning team. Our Midwest Planning Team is looking for a strong project manager with experience in community planning, land use, transportation planning, and community engagement.

The position is located in either our Kansas City, MO, Salina, KS or Springfield, MO offices. This individual will work closely with our planning and engineering staff in leading comprehensive plans, economic development studies, corridor and area studies, scoping/feasibility studies, multimodal planning evaluations, public engagement efforts, supporting design efforts, safety analyses, transportation master plans, and other miscellaneous public studies. 

General Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and lead work efforts with team members and clients.
• Supervise a team of planning professionals.
• Lead meetings of consultants, clients, and public engagement efforts
• Invoicing and billing to clients
• Develop relationships that leads to winning new work for the Wilson & Company

Required Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public presentation development and delivery is required.
• Strong analytic and computer skills, including GIS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong graphic sense including skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and advance innovative solutions.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher BA or BS in planning, engineering, or related field of study.
• 5 years of experience working on community/transportation planning.
• Demonstrated experience in developing formatted technical reports, supporting analysis, graphics, tables, etc.
• Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience applying and developing community planning/transportation planning/engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects or project tasks.
• Must be able to work collaboratively and independently to successfully conduct and develop studies and plans.
• Professional certification of AICP is a plus

Annual Salary range: $56,000.00 - $98,000.00
