BACKGROUNDThis position requires a flexible individual with great attention to detail. Responsibilities include:•Maintaining a medical needs log of all known issues for students enrolled in the Programs.•Assuring that all appropriate medications and protocols are in place as needed.•Knowledge of SNAP or the willingness to learn the SNAP program for medical documentation.•Tending to the known and unexpected medical needs of the children.•Communicating with school day nurses in regards to health maintenance and disease management.•Training staff with respect to medical needs and protocols.•Advising the coordinator of medical concerns on an ongoing basis. •Arranging the nurse’s staffing schedules for vacation and summer programs.•Training for Medication delegation for Administration and Site Supervisors in the absence of a nurse.•Organizing annual CPR and First Aid trainings and maintaining needs log for staff.•Training and certifying staff in Epi-pen use.•Ordering medical supplies as needed.•Filling in at Sites as needed and if free from tending to known medical needs.•Attend staff meetings on a monthly basis.The position is a traveling position based on the known medical needs of the children in the before and after school programs at 6 schools.
