POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director is responsible for providing the clinical, medical and operational oversight of Willow Springs Recovery Programs. The Executive Director is a key management leader of the Willow Springs Recovery Program. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and communicating the vision, strategic plan, and programming. The Executive Director oversees and supervises the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Clinical director, Operations Director, and is responsible for the overall safety and compliance; this includes ensuring timely implementation, reporting, and documentation of a variety of functions including safety, quality improvement, and compliance standards. The Executive Director reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for all operations, acting as the contact for all staff, clients, prospects, community organizations, government agencies and the public.
  • Provide leadership for staff and residents.
  • Works in conjunction with Vice President of Operations to develop annual operating budgets. Continually explore means of revenue enhancement and expense reduction.
  • Foster creativity and maintain an atmosphere of stability among staff to deliver the highest quality and best services to support the personal dignity of clients in the most economical manner possible in an effort to meet occupancy goals for the community.
  • Develop and maintain a positive image within the community by becoming active in social and civic affairs of the local community, representing the facility and the company to governmental agencies, professional organizations, community groups and other appropriate public agencies/groups and acts as a member of the Organization.
  • Ensures buildings, grounds and property are up to company standards through the oversight of preventative maintenance systems and programs, and frequent inspections that meet company standards of excellence.
  • Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the Vice President of Operations and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Responsible for implementation of Willow Springs Recovery programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that Willow Springs Recovery can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
  • Ensures, through coordinated efforts with the Compliance Director, continued site compliance in accordance with The Joint Commission and State/Federal Regulations.
  • Works in collaboration with the Director of Admissions, Billing Director and Insurance Department Heads to ensure the seamless safety, services and admittances are provided.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Organization Operations. Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
  • Responsible for effective administration of Willow Springs Recovery operations.
  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
  • Responsible for signing all agreements, and other instruments made and entered and on behalf of the organization.
Actual Job Responsibilities:
  • Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation in conjunction with the Vice President of Operations and Director of Compliance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance Willow Springs Recovery Mission.
  • Report to the Vice President of Operations and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, and to increase the overall visibility of the Organization locally.
  • Supervise and/or collaborate with organization staff.
  • Strategic planning and implementation.
  • Planning and operation of annual budget.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations and Board of Directors.
  • Provides leadership for staff and clients.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge: The incumbent will:
  • Possess a strong knowledge of administrative functions including, interpersonal communications, office etiquette, and computer skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of psychiatric education and treatment of the chemically dependent population.
  • Possess strong clinically ethical standards.
  • Possess an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment practices including non-pharmacological symptom management techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA regulations and CFR 42 requirements.
  • Possess a basic understanding of report generation, graphical analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Possess effectiveness in building/organizing department trainings, medical curriculum and quality control standards within the medical department.
  • Patient Care – Excellent bedside manner and communication skills are essential handling clients and their cases.

  • Strong Character – Staying calm under pressure is essential. Having an approachable demeanor without compromising Willow Springs Recovery Standards of ethics and workmanship.
  • Organization – Must be highly organized and efficient in managing the necessary daily client/staff demands and tasks associated with them.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES: The following requirements and preferences will be evaluated and verified to establish employment eligibility.
  • Master’s degree (preferred), or equivalent work experience.
  • Transparent and strong leadership integrity.
  • 2-3 Years Senior Management Experience in Mental or Behavioral Health with a Facility of 40 or More Beds
  • CPR Certification Required
  • Valid Texas Driver License Required
  • COVID Vaccination or Approved Exemption Required
  • Weekend/Holiday Availability
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
  • Ability to convey a vision of Willow Springs Recovery’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers and contractors.
  • Knowledge of community relations unique to the Behavioral Health sector
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and contractor groups
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Public speaking ability
