Williamsburg House is Hiring a Program Director - Sober Living / Recovery Housing (FT) Near Brooklyn, NY
We are currently seeking an energetic leader looking to direct and grow our well-respected addiction recovery housing program. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional looking to serve in a high-impact role for the dedicated team at Williamsburg House and its clients. JOB TYPE: FULL TIME.
TOTAL COMPENSATION: $95,000 - $115,000 a year.

Williamsburg House is a unique residential sober living for individuals of any gender identity, in early recovery from substance use and other co-occurring mental health or addiction issues. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York City, our program uses a highly personalized, real-world approach, combining structured recovery residences, immersive case management, coaching & wellness programming, and collaboration with clinical treatment providers, to help position residents for long-term sobriety. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Director reports to company Owners and bears primary responsibility for day-to-day delivery of high-quality services to all clients, optimal management of the residence and staff across all shifts, and overall effectiveness of our programs. He/she/they demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and consistency as a leader, has experience managing medium-sized client-facing teams, and creating a positive work culture. The Program Director maintains an extensive knowledge of community resources, upholds exceptional standards for client service, is strategic, and ensures that a welcoming, safe, and healing environment is maintained for each client and family.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate to refine and uphold the mission and strategic vision of the program and achieve business goals.
Provide overall leadership and direction for client services, including admissions and discharges, case planning, in-house programing, and aftercare.
Establish program goals, develop/update programming and assign and manage projects accordingly. Develop periodic reports to monitor program effectiveness.
Develop and maintain practices and systems to ensure the smooth functioning of the program and the provision of excellent client care.
Oversee on-site, community, and alumni activities, ensuring that there is an active calendar of events.
Ensure appropriate and timely responses to client/family/facility crises as needed, including after hours. Participate in on-call rotation.
As a senior leader, responsible for hiring, onboarding, development, and termination (if necessary) of designated staff.
Manage & direct all client-facing staff and address concerns as they arise.
Facilitate positive staff morale by creating a team culture of collaboration and support, mutual respect, open communication, and integrity. Promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
Ensure staff compliance with policies & procedures, safety protocols, requirements for all documentation and all applicable regulations and laws, ensuring staff understand and perform to standards.
Maintain responsibility for adequate staffing coverage and assume responsibility for coverage in situations of call-outs or understaffing.
Collaborate with leadership team to develop and achieve yearly work plans, budgets, and key performance goals, and continuously seek efficiencies in program operation.
Contribute as requested, efforts around strategic planning and improvement initiatives.
With support of Marketing Director, maintain current knowledge and active relationships with relevant community resources and referrants.
Attend events, deliver presentations, host facility visits, and perform speaking or PR as needed.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree (MSW, MHC or similar) in a related field preferred. A combination of relevant work experience, education/professional certifications (ie: CASAC, CARC, CRPA) and personal experience will also be considered.
Five (5) or more years of progressive supervisory experience, including at least three years of program management.
Experience working in substance use services, preferably in an addiction treatment setting.
Thorough knowledge of substance use disorder, process addictions, recovery support programs (12 Step, SMART), MAT, and other pathways of recovery.
A fundamental understanding of common mental health issues and various clinical treatment approaches including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Familiarity with challenges commonly experienced by families facing substance use and mental health issues.
Deep understanding of the hospitality elements of an exceptional service organization.
Demonstrated ability to empower and motivate supervisees to accomplish team goals.
Strong, hands-on work ethic and high degree of energy.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Highly organized, with ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
Outstanding problem-solving ability and the capacity to consistently exercise sound judgment in times of crisis.
Computer proficient - Microsoft office, EMRs & common collaboration and communication tools.
