Williams Foods is Hiring a Cloud Machine Operator -2nd Shift 2pm-10:30pm- $24.22+*per hour Near Lenexa, KS

  • Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-6am
  • Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work
Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential functions and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned by management based on business needs.
  • Start machine and observe operation to detect any machine malfunctions.
  • Stop machine to make weight and roll stock adjustments and report malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Make minor adjustments or repairs to packaging machines to keep running smoothly and efficiently and make sure necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Inspect filled containers to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications and is properly coded and labeled.
  • Replenish packaging supplies such as rolls, plastic sheets, boxes, cartons, glue, ink or labels, locator tags and windows for locator tags.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of shippers and display cartons, assemble displays, pack completed display cartons in shipping cartons and tape cartons.
  • Minimize scrap, waste and open rework packages.
  • Stage skids at end of line and stack and tape cases properly.
  • Drain product from machine hopper as needed and vacuum machine thoroughly and/or wet clean within sanitary quality assurance specifications and cover entire machine in plastic sheeting if not in use.
  • Examine and document work orders for special instructions and proper packaging components.
  • Complete paperwork neatly and accurately. Include verifying tare weight, proper packaging material, work order, daily production reports and completed pallet.
  • Assist with packing on a daily basis by alternating with packer on your line by performing the following:
    • Manually pack boxes of individual envelopes of product.
    • Make adjustments as required to maintain quality standards.
    • Weigh containers and adjust quantity.
    • Inspect product and packaging materials at each step of process.
    • Record information such as weight, time and date packaged and check code date.
  • Keep work area safe, sanitary and orderly.
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures and good manufacturing practices at all times.
  • Coordinate downtime duties with lead, Team Leader and/or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Keep packaging line lead person and/or supervisor informed about problems, potential issues and status of work in progress, including any supply shortages.
  • Be at workstation when “start” buzzer sounds.
  • Assist in training new employees when needed.
  • Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Team Leader or Safety Manager immediately.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:
High School diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude and six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Understanding of preventative maintenance relating to efficient production.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Basic computer and machine control skills.
