Description

Position Overview:

Provide direct supervision and training to the Facilities staff, ensuring that all the Center sites and equipment are maintained in a clean and safe manner and in compliance with all regulatory mandates. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of the Ryan Network.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the selection and hiring of Housekeeping, Facilities and Transportation Department personnel.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate and discipline the Facilities, Housekeeping and Transportation staff, as appropriate.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the facilities; identify and correct deficiencies, and inform the Facilities Manager and Director of Facilities of findings.
  • Provide leadership to assigned staff demonstrated through strong organizational skills, and proven ability to coach, train, motivate, instruct, schedule, direct and monitor same.
  • Conduct day-to-day Facilities, Housekeeping and Transportation Department business in a professional manner, respecting opinions of staff, listen to concerns, respond accordingly and treat staff, patients and visitors with respect and courtesy.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of work schedules.
  • Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Ryan Network policies and procedures by meeting and communicating regularly with staff to ensure awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with all City, State, Federal, Joint Commission and other regulatory agency mandates.
  • Provide hand-on support when short staffed or during times when additional precautions may be required.
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance and housekeeping supplies and equipment, and submit requisitions in a timely manner to replenish supplies.
  • Perform annual evaluations for staff as directed.
  • Conduct orientation, training, and competency assessment of staff.
  • Respond to fires, fire alarms, and other emergencies during your shift and take appropriate action to protect Ryan Network staff, patients, visitors and property.
  • Work closely with the Director of Facilities and Facilities Manager to ensure all phases of the General Services Department duties are met.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Ryan Center special functions and events.
  • Meet daily with the Director of Facilities and Facilities Manager to discuss all issues pertaining to the functioning of any area within the General Services Department.
  • Keep daily calendar of all meetings and job assignments, and keep the Director of Facilities informed of such.
  • Keep accurate files for the General Services Department and assist with the upkeep of all manuals, ensuring they are up-to-date on an annual basis as per Federal, Article 28, OSHA and Joint Commission mandates.
  • Assist with the upkeep of all necessary permits, annual service contracts, etc.
  • Meet with Department Heads & Supervisors to discuss individual Department needs.
  • Attend conferences or training sessions as needed.
  • Keep accurate records and review of department budgets and submit reports as may be requested by the Director of Facilities or Administration.
  • Immediately report any problems unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

  • Three years of experience in direct Maintenance and Housekeeping duties.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or some college.

Work Hazard

May be required to perform duties on weekends and late evenings on short notice in emergency situations and for special projects.
