Description

Position Overview:

Accurately transcribe and /or verify data from specific documents (encounters, referrals, Electronic Health Record (EHR) etc.) into the Center’s main computer system. Must be familiar with correction, deletion, and control techniques. Will be assigned to other Data Processing tasks, as needed. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Network.

Essential Functions:  

  • Create and /or verify charges from the EHR into the Center’s E Clinical Works/ Practice Management System based on the indicated:
  1. Locked EHR
  2. Procedure Codes
  • Process electronic encounters and/or electronic claims into the appropriate categories prior to claim submission. Monitor open encounters on a daily basis.
  • Batch and submit all claims to the appropriate insurance.
  • Keep supervisor informed on the status of workload to ensure its timely completion.
  • Review EHR to follows-up on:
  1. Missing consent forms not scanned.
  2. Missing practitioner signature.
  3. Missing diagnosis and CPT codes
  4. Obtain co-signatures for non-credentialed providers.
  • Operate various office machines, including, but not limited to Xerox, and stamp machine.
  • Verify insurance information, review and correct error and resubmit claims, utilizing the Center’s E Clinical Works/ Practice Management System.
  • May be assigned and /or required to other billing tasks as necessary.
  • Immediately report any problems unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor and other employees.

Qualifications


Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of computers including but limited too, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience of insurances verification and billing policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple responsibilities.

Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimal Training Time:

90-day introductory period.
