Essential Functions:

Under the direction of the manufacturing supervisor, individual:

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Responsible for approving employee timecards and other first line supervisor duties.
  • Responsible for developing a production schedule for the assembly team.
  • Lead a team of mechanics, electricians, and assemblers in the assembly and outfit of aluminum boats.
  • Follow engineering drawings and specifications during the manufacturing process and generate redlines to track product changes.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Manage shop supplies, equipment, and PPE.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and designers, to understand project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure uninterrupted and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure quality of work being performed by the manufacturing team through initial visual inspections and detailed inspections at critical points.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators like saws, drills, drivers, sanders, buffers, and other tools as required.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and pack items manually or using hoists.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks. 
  • Responsible for maintaining calibrated equipment.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.

 Other Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (safety glasses, masks, etc.).
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. of material/push & pull boats.
  • Ability to physically transit all areas of the facility and go in and out of boats. 

Required Skills/Equipment/Other:

  • Qualified candidates must have 5 to 10 years experience with marine repair or other product manufacture/assembly required.
  • Previous leadership experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience operating forklift, overhead gantry crane, and other manufacturing machinery required.
  • Experience reading drawings and manufacturing specifications required.
  • Pass pre-employment background checks, drug screenings and a weld test required.
  • Valid driver’s license required. 
  • General Computer skills required.
  • Previous marine experience required.
  • CNC machinery experience preferred.
  • Experience working in and around large items or heavy equipment preferred.
  • Must bring your own tools to work each day, such as: tape measure, hand tools.
